BAHRAIN registered its third Covid-19 death yesterday.
The Health Ministry said the 65-year-old Bahraini man had underlying chronic health conditions before he contracted the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19).
The man from Hamala was the first Covid-19 patient to have been treated in the intensive care unit (ICU).
“The deceased male who had returned from Iran via an indirect flight was placed in isolation and received extensive 24-hour treatment from a specialised medical team,” said the ministry in a statement.
“Excluding two cases, all other active Covid-19 cases remain stable and all patients are receiving treatment from a specialised medical team following guidelines provided by the World Health Organisation.”
This was the second Covid-19 death in the kingdom in 72 hours.
The GDN reported that a 51-year-old Bahraini woman with underlying chronic health conditions who was brought back to the country from Iran had died on Sunday.
A 65-year-old Bahraini woman who died last Monday also had underlying chronic health conditions.
She had contracted the virus in Iran.

Of these, two are in critical condition.
Moreover, 13 more people were discharged from treatment and isolation facilities yesterday.
Additionally, 79 people left quarantine facilities after completing 14 days under medical supervision and being cleared of any infection.
