MANAMA: Ahli United Bank (AUB) is encouraging customers to manage their day-to-day transactions from the safety of their homes by using its comprehensive offering of digital banking solutions, given the current environment.
The bank said its range of digital banking channels serves as an effective barrier against possible chances of infection, while offering a superior experience in terms of speed, availability, and ease of use.
Customers can manage their bank accounts from anywhere through Internet or mobile banking with services including account balance, credit card statements, fund transfers, payment of bills, and others.
These channels can be accessed by downloading the AUB mobile app or signing up to Internet Banking.
To further encourage its customers, AUB will make customers who sign up automatically eligible to win up to BD10,000.
Moreover, customers can also have quick access to these services via phone banking (IVR), as well as Visual Interactive Voice Response (VIVR), which provides a visual presentation of the IVR menus to navigate through them on a smartphone or computer.
The bank has made many of these services accessible on WhatsApp.
Powered by AI, the system is capable of conversing with customers and comprehending their requests in their natural daily language.
AUB’s network of 61 ATMs can also be used for cash deposit and withdrawal, for which limit has also been increased to BD2,000.
Sanitisers are made available for the benefit of customers.
If a customer must visit a branch for any reason, he or she can also minimise waiting time through the Virtual Queuing service, which allows them to book branch appointments through the AUB website.
AUB has also implemented contactless payment (Tap & Pay) technology into its debit and credit cards.
This allows shoppers to settle payments of up to BD50 without keying their PIN.
AUB deputy group chief executive for retail banking Suvrat Saigal said, “We would like to reiterate that the safety and well-being of our staff, partners, and customers are of paramount importance to us.
“We want to assure our customers that we will navigate these difficult times with an inclusive approach. We would like to advise our customers to visit our branches only when absolutely necessary. Our digital offering is robust and safe, enabling customers to perform a wide range of transactions.”
