The Health Ministry has reassured the public that there is no spread of Covid-19 among expatriate workers.
“There is no spread of the virus among expat workers, as it is being propagated,” said the ministry on its Twitter account.
“The 47 migrant workers tested positive were transferred to isolation and treatment facility in Sitra.
“They were under precautionary quarantine at their residence in coordination with the company's management and they have not left the area – Salmabad.
“Precautionary measures were taken for all those who were in contact with these cases and laboratory tests were carried out to ensure their safety.
“They are put under observation, and it has been decided to extend their stay in a precautionary quarantine for two weeks.”
It comes as latest statistics showed that the 47 expat workers were among the 52 new cases registered yesterday.
The ministry also reiterated its call for the public to seek information from “official sources” only.
