ONLY 27 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Bahrain yesterday, with 40 more recoveries.
This is a drastic drop in new cases recorded in the country compared to the last three days, bringing the total number of active cases to 990 – of which three remain in critical condition.
On Monday, Bahrain registered an all-time high of 225 new cases, followed by 167 cases on Tuesday and 145 on Wednesday.
According to statistics from the Health Ministry, 40 people were discharged from treatment and isolation facilities yesterday, taking the total number of recoveries to 703.
The total number of people who have been tested for the virus so far has reached 76,944.
“Forty people recovered and left treatment and isolation facilities, taking the total number of recoveries to 703,” said the Health Ministry yesterday.
The ministry also said that 18 more people left precautionary quarantine facilities yesterday after completing their 14 days under medical observation. These individuals were tested negative and were cleared of infection.
This takes the total number to leave quarantine facilities to 1,218.
Meanwhile, Gulf Air yesterday landed at Bahrain International Airport with another group of Bahrainis evacuated from Iran.
The flight was part of the government’s International Covid-19 Repatriation Programme, an evacuation plan for citizens stranded abroad due to the outbreak of the virus.
This is the ninth group of citizens to be evacuated from Iran and they flew back from the city of Mashhad.
