A WEEK-LONG diabetes awareness campaign began yesterday under the patronage of Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh at Seef Mall, Muharraq.
The second Gulf Week to Improve Health 2016, under the theme ‘Protect Yourself from Diabetes Complications’, continues until Thursday.
Today, students will be offered health check-ups at A’ali Health Centre followed by Bahrain TV coverage of the event on its “Hala Bahrain” programme. Checks will also be offered at East Riffa Health Centre.
Tomorrow, visitors will be examined by medical specialists at Ibn Sina Centre, Bilad Al Qadeem.
On Tuesday, schoolchildren suffering from diabetes will receive check-ups at Yousuf Abdulrahman Engineer Health Centre and Shaikh Sabah Al Salem Centre in Duraz.
On Wednesday, health tests will be available at Naim Health Centre followed by sports activities in East Riffa Health Centre, Sitra Health Centre, Jaw clinic, Hamad Kanoo Centre and Ahmed Ali Kanoo Centre in Nuwaidrat.
Shaikh Jaber Al Sabah Centre will offer medical checks for schoolchildren on the same day.
On Thursday, sports activities will be held at Budaiya centre, Kuwait centre, Hamad Town centre, Mohammed Jassim Kanoo centre, Zallaq centre and Budaiya clinic; and health checks for students at Jidhafs Centre, Isa Town centre and Hoora Health Centre.
