MANAMA: Sixty-six new cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) were registered in Bahrain yesterday.
This took the number of active cases to 1,182, two of which remain in critical condition. Of the new cases, 20 were expatriate workers, 20 were contacts of active cases, five were repatriated via International Covid-19 Repatriation Programme, and the rest were unspecified.
Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries rose to 784.
“All active cases are stable, except for some with respiratory inflammation,” said Covid-19 Task Force member Dr Jameela Salman.
“Of the cases we had, many were through family contacts and hence it is important to limit family gatherings,” she said.
“The children who are infected remain without complications and most of them have recovered, under the regular treatment protocol.”
Seven Bahrainis have died due to the pandemic – all had underlying health conditions.
