His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received at Safriya Palace, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs president Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Sunni Endowments Council chairman Dr Shaikh Rashid Al Hajeri and Jaffari Endowments Council chairman Youssef Al Saleh, who congratulated him on Ramadan, wishing him health and happiness and Bahrain and its people further progress, prosperity and security.
Present were the King’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Royal Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
They thanked the King for his directives to air the Friday sermon and prayers, in the presence of the khateeb and a limited number of worshippers.
The King welcomed them and exchanged Ramadan greetings with them.
He hailed the pivotal role of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in serving Islam and disseminating its teachings which preach moderation and good ethics, beyond any extremism or bigotry.
He commended the Sunni Endowments Council and the Jaffari Endowments Council for caring for the venues of worship and urging people to comply with precautionary measures to check the virus pandemic.
He reiterated Bahrain’s firm resolve to pursue its humanitarian mission in spreading the precepts of tolerant Islam which preach tolerance, amity and peace, wishing them all success in serving their nation and society.
