The proactive approach by the Education Ministry with regard to private school fees considering the Covid-19 situation is commendable.
However, certain international private schools have taken the reduction as being optional and put out circulars that they are glad not to increase children school fees. In fact, it was revised just last year. Also they benefit from the government’s Bahraini staff salary package and electricity and water bills, which probably they don’t want to pass on to parents.
The due date for payment of term fees has been extended until September, which was also taken as optional and the school insists that the fee be paid in June. May I request the ministry to make the reduction and also the time limit to pay the next term fees until September as mandatory.
