MANAMA: There has been a 16.5 per cent increase in the demand for e-commerce platforms globally in recent times, according to Social Media Club chairman Ali Sabkar.
He said 49pc of the world’s population is using social media channels on a daily basis; and there has been a rapid increase in social media accounts.
Mr Sabkar said this during a virtual meeting organised by Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) under the theme ‘Optimising Social Media and Digital Marketing During Crisis’.
During the forum, he shed light on smart marketing solutions and the growing importance of social media channels and platforms.
Mr Sabkar also highlighted Bahrain-specific statistics, revealing that 99pc of Bahrain’s population is available on some Internet platform, hence there is a high potential for e-commerce and marketing, and the opportunity to reach a wider range of customers.
He reiterated the importance of embracing technology and keeping abreast of e-commerce trends.
Participants also voiced appreciation to the chamber’s efforts in holding such valuable events, and called for more similar events.
