His Majesty King Hamad sent a cable of condolences to Pakistani President Arif Alvi over the loss of lives in a plane crash in Karachi.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa sent cables of condolences to President Alvi and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, sent a similar cable to the Pakistani President. They offered condolences to families of victims and the people of Pakistan, praying to God to rest the souls of the victims in eternal peace and to grant their families patience and fortitude to bear the loss. The leaders also wished the injured speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, the flight data recorder from the plane that crashed in Karachi has been found as the death toll rose to 97. There were two survivors from onboard the aircraft, while no fatalities were reported in the densely populated area of the city where the aircraft crash-landed on Friday.
Pakistan International Airlines flight PK 8303, an Airbus A320, was flying from Lahore to Karachi with 99 people on board when it went down in mid-afternoon while trying a second landing attempt.
