MANAMA: Another coronavirus death was reported in Bahrain yesterday, while 327 new cases were also registered.
The 53-year-old expatriate man became the 15th Covid-19 patient to have died in Bahrain, with the Health Ministry announcing that he suffered from underlying health conditions.
The ministry also revealed that of yesterday’s 327 new cases, 198 were among expat workers, 123 were contacts of active cases and six were travel related.
Meanwhile, 214 individuals were also discharged from treatment and isolation facilities yesterday, bringing the total recoveries to 5,152.
There are currently 29 positive cases receiving treatment from the total 4,525 active cases, while 10 remain critical.
This means Bahrain has registered a total of 9,692 cases of Covid-19, including the active cases, the recoveries and the deaths.
“The Health Ministry announces the death of a 53-year-old male expatriate, a registered active case of coronavirus, suffering from underlying and chronic health problems,” it said yesterday.
“The patient, along with all other active cases, had been placed in isolation and received extensive 24-hour treatment from a specialised medical team.”
Bahrain has so far conducted a total of 291,127 tests.
