MANAMA: Government schools are set to reopen on September 6 for teaching and administrative staff and on September 16 for students.
Preparations are in full swing for the new academic year, said Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi.
The number of students has reached 145,000, while more than 10,000 first grade children will join primary schools.
The nine schools evacuated last year will be operational at the start of the new school year, he added.
Opening of private schools will start mid-August and run until the beginning of September, the minister told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
