Another Covid-19 death was registered in Bahrain yesterday, along with 551 new cases and 857 recoveries.
The Bahraini woman, aged 66, has become the 22nd fatality from the coronavirus in the country.
The Health Ministry said that she was a registered active case who suffered from underlying and chronic health problems.
This means Bahrain has registered an average of one death a day in the last week.
Of yesterday’s new cases, 287 were local contacts, 233 were expatriate workers and 19 were travel-related.
This takes the total number of active cases to 5,228, of which 55 cases are receiving treatment and 12 are in critical condition.
The ministry also said that 857 people left isolation and treatment facilities yesterday, which takes the total recoveries to 8,585.
Bahrain has recorded a total of 13,835 cases of Covid-19, including the active cases, recoveries and deaths. So far, there have been 354,122 tests conducted across the country.
