Bahrain yesterday recorded 724 new cases – its highest daily tally to date – of Covid-19, alongside 636 recoveries and two fatalities.
Two Bahraini women, aged 83 and 47, died yesterday, taking the toll to 73.
The Health Ministry revealed that of yesterday’s 724 new cases, 474 were expatriate workers, 240 contacts of local cases and 10 travel-related.
It said that an additional 636 people recovered from Covid-19 yesterday, taking the total number of recoveries to 19,137.
The ministry added that of the 5,595 active cases, 94 are receiving treatment and 48 are in critical condition.
Bahrain has so far registered 24,805 cases, including active cases, recoveries and deaths. The kingdom has also conducted 521,101 tests for Covid-19.
