MANAMA: The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) has announced the appointment of William D Hurt as its chief operating officer. Mr Hurt has more than 10 years of regional operational and strategic experience and will oversee all business operations and development of the Riffa-based institution. He has worked on projects for clients in a variety of sectors including education, defence and pharmaceuticals. Prior to his appointment at AUBH, he served as managing director of Middle East Operations for US-based Laureate Education Inc. He has also worked on educational projects in Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, the UAE and Lebanon. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with specialisations in Finance and Information Technology from the University of Virginia, US.
