THE Covid-19 hotline call centre 444 received 704,024 calls until July 29.
The centre is one of the earliest steps taken by the country as part of its efforts to tackle the spread of the virus.
“The centre is manned by 305 staff and it received 704,024 calls from the beginning and each call takes an average of four minutes,” said National Taskforce to Combat Covid-19 monitoring committee head Dr Manaf Al Qahtani.
“In the last seven days (July 22 to July 29) the centre received 26,265 calls of which 15 per cent were from symptomatic cases, 38pc were general inquiries and others.”
