A SONG that celebrates Bahrain’s history and cultural diversity – and features international artistes – is creating waves.
Media expert Ahmed Al Sayed and French artist Karl Wine have launched the song titled Je T’aime Bahrain.
It is co-written by the duo and performed in three languages – Arabic, English and French.
The proceeds from the sale of the song will go towards local charities.
“I always wanted to write a song that reflects the beauty of Bahrain, its modernity, cultural diversity, and rich history,” said Mr Al Sayed.
“It was a lovely coincidence that Karl, who’s a dear friend of mine and no stranger to Bahrain, shared the same idea and vision.
“We wanted the song to be timeless, and heard all over the world, for the love of Bahrain, it’s leadership and people.”
Mr Al Sayed said they will donate proceeds from the song to support the Feena Khair (There is good in us) campaign spearheaded by the Royal Humanitarian Foundation.
“We will donate proceeds of Je T’aime Bahrain to support His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s Feena Khair campaign, and local charity causes, as a way to give back to our society.”
The filming of the song took place in February this year and highlighted Bahrain’s achievements as a global destination for hosting the Formula One Grand Prix.
Bahrain Combat Sports Council chairman Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met Mr Al Sayed and Mr Wine at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir during the filming and praised their efforts.
“We thank Ahmed and Karl for their efforts and vision for such a unique national song created for the love of Bahrain,” said Shaikh Salman.
Meanwhile, Mr Wine urged the public to support their “happy song” to go viral globally.
“From the moment I first visited Bahrain almost two years ago, I fell in love with the kindness and hospitality of its people,” said Mr Wine.
“I wanted to show my gratitude and love for the place that welcomed me and appreciated my music, so I called my dear friend Ahmed to see if he is interested in writing a song with me for Bahrain.”
Furthermore, international artistes were roped in to collaborate with the duo, including talented Swedish producer Mestiic, who created the modern catchy beat yet with a traditional twist.
Kenyan artist Sal, who is based in Dubai, added his touch, which further enriched the song with his silky voice and Dynasty, a talented rapper from the US, added his uplifting vibe to the track.
Mr Al Sayed and Mr Wine later got in touch with Teramotion, a local film production house that offered to produce the video clip.
The video showcases landmarks like Bab Al Bahrain, Bahrain Bay, Riffa Fort and Dive Bahrain.
The video features guest appearances by bodybuilding champion Sami Al Haddad, and Bahrain’s football star Mohammed Al Rumaihi, who scored the winning goal that clinched victory for Bahrain at the Gulf Cup last year, as well as media personalities “Mojay” Mohammed Janahi, and Heba Abdulghaffar.
Je T’aime Bahrain is out now on all media platforms such as YouTube, Anghami, Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
