MANAMA: The Lebanese community in Bahrain yesterday expressed its gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad for his directives to provide humanitarian and relief aid after a massive explosion devastated Beirut.
The statement came as the first consignment of relief, ordered by His Majesty, reached the Lebanese capital.
The community paid tribute to the King for his care and support for devastated people all over the globe.
They stressed that medical equipment sent to Lebanon amidst the Covid pandemic reflects its humane nature as well as deep-rooted relations between the two countries.
The community wished the King a long life, describing him as a model of humanitarian support during crises.
His Majesty had assigned the Royal Humanitarian Foundation to undertake the relief operation, under the direct supervision of his representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The delegation delivered the consignment which included medical supplies and ventilators, and later visited the areas devastated by the explosion.
