The Pakistani Womens’ Association (PWA), Bahrain is a functional ladies group which has been relentlessly working for humanitarian causes for the past 22 years.
The association stands in support of both Pakistanis and other nationalities in the kingdom through its charitable causes and welfare initiatives.
Most recently, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the PWA distributed LuLu Hypermarket vouchers worth BD900 to its Education Scholarship Fund (ESF) families and daily wage earners.
The association’s Ramadan and Covid-19 ration drive was able to help 120 families.
Organised in collaboration with Bahrain Pride, the rations worth a total of BD1,715 were distributed to vulnerable families door-to-door.
The association also disbursed house rent worth BD1,590 for those who were hard hit by the coronavirus and in need of assistance, while also providing medical assistance.
Meanwhile, the association continues to sponsor the education of around 50 students at Pakistan School through its ESF programme.
“The PWA is grateful to its workers and donors for their continuous support. This work is not possible without their tireless efforts and generosity.
“The Pakistan Womens’ Association graciously invites the women in Bahrain to join us as members and help further the work of PWA, Bahrain. Together we can make a difference and be productive members of our vibrant community.
“Prayers for our beloved home, Pakistan, on this auspicious day.
“May our country always go from strength to strength and stay on the path of progress under positive, effective and skilled leadership.”
