MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad says Bahrain is looking forward to Lebanon overcoming the repercussions of the disaster that hit Beirut and achieving the aspirations of its people for security, stability and development.
The King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Royal Humanitarian Foundation chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa made the statement in a letter addressed to Lebanese Ambassador Milad Hanna Nammour.
The ambassador has sent messages of thanks and gratitude from the Lebanese community in Bahrain to His Majesty for the humanitarian aid sent by the kingdom to blast-hit Beirut.
“It is with great pleasure that we have received letters of thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad from the Lebanese community in Bahrain, as a result of His Majesty’s directive to provide the necessary assistance to the brotherly Lebanese people,” Shaikh Nasser wrote in his letter.
The directives aimed to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese and improve their humanitarian conditions in light of the current conditions in Lebanon, Shaikh Nasser added.
Through the directives, the King expressed Bahrain’s belief in its Arab obligations towards its brothers and confirmed that the kingdom will spare no effort to provide and deliver urgent and necessary humanitarian aid to them.
His Majesty expressed his pride in the close ties that bind the Bahraini and Lebanese people, which date back decades and cover all fields.
The King pointed out that the provision of assistance to the Lebanese people during the ordeal is a natural reaction stemming from fraternity and humanity.
Shaikh Nasser emphasised the King’s appreciation of the noble sentiments of the community and the ambassador.
