Muharraq rose to the top of the standings after defeating Al Ahli 1-0 in a 13th-round match of the Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League last night.
Thiago hit the lone goal of the match in the fourth minute to take Muharraq to the top position as Hidd, who were leading the standings, fell 0-1 to Al Najma. Ali Mounir was the scorer for Najma.
In the third match of the night, Riffa outplayed Busaiteen 5-1.
Muharraq, with 30 points, are now one point ahead of Hidd and Riffa are in the third spot with 25 points.
The top three are followed by Najma and East Riifa (21), Manama (16), Al Ahli (14), Al Shabab (10), Busaiteen (9) and Al Hala (6).
