MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday praised Bahrain’s frontline Covid warriors for their dedication.
He also hailed citizens and residents for following health guidelines issued by the National Taskforce for Combating Covid-19.
His Majesty was speaking after performing Friday prayers at Sakhir Palace mosque.
Several Royal Family members joined the King in performing the prayer.
Mosques across the kingdom reopened for morning prayers yesterday after being closed for more than five months following the outbreak of Covid-19.
His Majesty prayed for the nation’s health and wellness.
“This blessed day has brought joy and happiness to the hearts of citizens and residents by returning to prayer in the mosques of Bahrain, coinciding also with the end of the commemoration ceremony of the Ashoora,” he said, wishing the annual rituals success.
“May Allah the Almighty protect our country, Muslim countries, and the whole world from the evil of epidemics, diseases and illnesses, for He is the All-Hearer and answers supplication.”
