Abu Dhabi and Manama have demonstrated their support for the Palestinian cause and the start of a fruitful debate in favour of peace. Speaking from the porch above the South Portico, just below the Truman balcony, US President Donald Trump said the accords were just the beginning.
What are the contributions of the Palestinian Authority, Qatar and Iran at this stage?
The Palestinian Authority continues to scream and shout insults against the UAE and Bahrain. This is the PA’s only achievement instead of diplomacy and negotiation to achieve peace. The Palestinian leaders attacked the Gulf states in a media conference attended by Mahmoud Abbas, a moral fall that is totally unacceptable.
In Qatar, the world talks about the shameful backdrop of the 2026/2030 World Cup court case. The international media also exposed Qatar’s arms shipments from Europe to the terrorists. Nothing new. Qatar is fond of supporting the fractious gangs of Hizbollah and Hamas.
While the UAE has chosen to continue its humanitarian mission away from violence and hatred, Iran has put its terrorist arsenal at the service of the Houthis, and was planning to assassinate Washington’s ambassador to South Africa. In addition, the Iranian currency continues to decline, and anger is rising on the streets.
Riyadh’s position is clear: Ensuring the unity, sovereignty and integrity of the Arab territories, and supporting all efforts aimed at reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
Most of all, enabling the Palestinian people to establish their independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
This is a golden opportunity for the Arabs to put Israel to a real test for achieving peace.
