Six Asian men, aged between 32 and 37, have been arrested for allegedly stealing cigarette packets worth BD22,000, the Director-General of Capital Governorate Police has reported.
He said that an investigation had led to the men being identified.
Packets of cigarettes had been snatched from distribution vehicles over a period of time. Doors to the vans had been damaged.
The stolen items and tools have been confiscated by officers.
Legal proceedings are being taken and the case is being referred to the Public Prosecution.
