The support of the private sector to football in Bahrain has helped in the achievements made by the national football teams regionally and internationally, said His Majesty the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
“We have been including the private sector in Bahraini football’s development system for a long time, giving private companies and banks a great opportunity to be a primary partner in football development plans and strategies. We have been keen to form a strong alliance between the sport and the sponsoring companies,” Shaikh Nasser said.
“Private companies have shown great cooperation to the efforts of the SCYS, the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Bahrain Football Association to develop football in Bahrain. We witnessed great support and comprehensive sponsorship by the companies this season for His Majesty the King Cup and the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League. This demonstrates the sense of responsibility of the private sector towards this nation,” Shaikh Nasser added.
“We have been confident that the private sector will pay close attention to sports in Bahrain, especially football, and will contribute to our efforts towards upgrading this sport. Private companies have been part of the development process of the football, and they are our partners in the successes we have been achieving,” he said.
Instructed by Shaikh Nasser, the sponsoring companies of the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League, ministries, establishments and media outlets were honoured during closing ceremony by Bahrain Football Association president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser thanked the sponsoring companies for the support provided to the football competitions this season despite the challenges the whole world is facing because of the coronavirus outbreak. He also expressed confidence that the private sector will continue backing sports in Bahrain.
