MANAMA: Working mothers could be permitted to work from home so that they can help with their children’s online education under an urgent proposal that is expected to be debated today during Parliament’s weekly session.
However, the proposal, presented by five MPs and spearheaded by Bassem Al Malki, is only aimed at mothers with children in grades one to six.
“The Covid-19 situation has not changed and having children sit at home alone while their mothers are at work is not helping with the educational process,” said Mr Al Malki.
“Working mothers need to be with their children and it has been seen since March that they are more productive at home as they also handle tutorial duties.”
