Pace, a leading Kuwait-based regional multidisciplinary consultancy firm, has announced steady progress on Marassi Al Bahrain, a landmark mixed-use waterfront project of leading Bahraini developer Diyar Al Muharraq that will feature both commercial and residential properties.
Giving a project update, Pace said nearly 56 per cent of the project had already been completed. The final structural works, external facades, hotel fit-out, and external road works, as well as all electromechanical works are currently under way, it stated.
Eagle Hills, in collaboration with Diyar, had engaged Pace to provide a full range of design and construction supervision services for the development.
The project spans a plot of 165,790 sq m and is set to become one of the kingdom’s major shopping, family entertainment and dining destinations.
The master-planned community of Diyar Al Muharraq is a coalition of eight artificial islands, home to many prestigious developments, one of which is Marassi Al Bahrain – the crown jewel of the development.
The project is located in the northeastern corner of the kingdom, 10 km away from the capital Manama, and accessible by various means of public transportation.
With an estimated completion date in the fourth quarter of 2021, Marassi Al Bahrain is well on its way to becoming a landmark of Bahrain’s urban and architectural landscape.
It will feature a high-end shopping mall, Marassi Galleria, which provides 470 retail and anchor units on a 200,000 sq m total floor area, housing leading global brands, many of which will be making their Bahrain debut.
The mall will also contain a spectacular indoor aquarium, state-of-the-art cinema complex, supermarket giant Carrefour and overall mall retail delivery services. Additional mall components include a multi-storey car park, with the largest parking capacity in Bahrain accommodating up to 6,700 parking spots.
The adjacent waterfront promenade will house two world-class waterfront hotels, the Vida and Address, each with a 300-room capacity. Both hotels will combine a range of high-end serviced residential units alongside traditional hotel rooms and services attributed to luxury hospitality including spas, gyms, premium pools and beach.
Pace has been a trusted partner in development for Bahrain for more than four decades, and was involved with some of the kingdom’s key development projects.
The kingdom has established itself as a prominent international business hub within the region, boasting an upwards economic growth trajectory, an increasingly appealing investment climate and a developing national landscape.
Its construction sector in particular continues to thrive, with mega development projects driving construction growth that is supported by private and public investment in infrastructure, mixed-use, and residential projects, said the Kuwaiti consultancy.
Its scope of work involves public space design and masterplanning works, including a beachfront, slip-lane connecting flyovers and a tunnel for mixed access and traffic management for the project component.
Located in close proximity to the central business district, Diyar Al Muharraq aims to establish a fully integrated community of the future that provides its residents and visitors with high-end residential options, advanced services, facilities and amenities and touristic attractions.
Upon completion, it will house approximately 22,000 residents within 5,600 high-end residential units.-TradeArabia News Service
