During the exceptional circumstances enforced upon us by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the leadership of this country very graciously waived the utility bills of expatriates for three months.
We are all thankful for that.
However, now it’s becoming very difficult to foot the high electricity and water bills with some expats losing their jobs and not being able to return to their home country, and others suffering a cut in their incomes.
If even a part of the amount is missed, we receive a message saying the bill is overdue and to arrange payment to avoid disconnection!
How can we pay the bills when we have to decide whether to use whatever little money we have to pay the bill or spend on food?
Can we hope for another waiver?
