A number of MPs have submitted a proposal to amend articles 23 and 24 of the law regulating buildings in Bahrain.
The proposed amendment aims to ease fines on anyone who constructs a building without obtaining a licence from the municipality by reducing them to a maximum of BD500, instead of the current BD1,000 to BD10,000.
MP Hamad Al Kooheji described the current law as exaggerated, severe and unjustifiable, reports our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
