MANAMA: The Education Ministry has put in place all necessary preparations to ensure a safe partial return to classrooms on October 25 as planned.
Online education will continue in the meanwhile, using all possible means including the Internet or TV, Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi said yesterday.
The ministry is implementing numerous measures for a safe comeback, including temperature checks for all students as well as teaching, administrative and technical staff before they enter schools, limiting classrooms to nine students at a time and providing all precautionary requirements in accordance with a guide drawn up by the ministry detailing mandatory preventive healthcare protocols to be implemented, he told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
He said the ministry has opted for a ‘Blended Learning’ model, a mix of regular attendance, which requires full commitment to health precautions, and remote learning, following in the footsteps of many other countries.
He stressed the importance of class attendance for primary school students, as recommended by several studies.
