A flying car is now a real possibility with the PAL-V Liberty approved for road usage.
PAL-V began designing the Liberty as its commercial product after flying and driving test prototypes in 2012.
The Liberty recently passed the stringent European road admission tests and is now allowed on the streets with an official license plate.
Since 2015, the PAL-V Liberty design has been also going through aviation certification with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) with finalisation expected in 2022.
Over 1200 test reports need to be completed before the final 150 hours of flight testing can take place.
Deliveries to customers will begin after the testing and the company has seen tremendous interest with 80 per cent of the future owners taking up training for a gyroplane flying license at the PAL-V FlyDrive Academy.
