MANAMA: Nine individuals were arrested for trafficking, dealing and selling banned types of tobacco last night.
Contraband worth BD350,000 was seized during the arrest, after police investigated and identified members of the gang who sold items worth BD100,000 at several locations, according to the Capital Governorate Police director general.
“The probe revealed that the gang is managed by one person, while another is responsible for trafficking it through an individual living in a Gulf country,” the Capital Governorate police noted in a statement.
Legal proceedings are underway and the case will be referred to the Public Prosecution.
