His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, has emphasised the strength of ties between Bahrain and India, noting that bilateral co-operation continues to accelerate across various sectors.
The exchange of visits between the countries, on all levels, continues to underpin co-operation and collaboration, which in turn further advances development and prosperity for both countries and their people, he said yesterday, as he met India’s External Affairs Minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, at Riffa Palace.
Dr Jaishankar conveyed Indian President Ram Nath Kovind’s condolences to His Majesty King Hamad and the Crown Prince Prime Minister on the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The Crown Prince Prime Minister welcomed ongoing co-operation between Bahrain and India in combating Covid-19.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to review the course of bilateral partnerships and methods to reinforce them. In this regard, the Crown Prince Prime Minister reaffirmed the kingdom’s commitment to bolster Bahraini-Indian ties across various areas, which will contribute to increased investment and opportunities.
He expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Indian community in Bahrain, and their efforts contributing towards the kingdom’s economic development. Regional and international topics were also discussed.
Dr Jaishankar expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet the Crown Prince Prime Minister, and highlighted his ongoing support for ever-expanding ties between Bahrain and India.
Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani and Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa were present.
