A FACILITY for special needs which can accommodate 1,000 individuals at a given time has been licensed by the Labour and Social Development Ministry.
The Athena Centre located in Manama offers multi-disciplinary programmes to people aged two to 45 and is reportedly the first in Bahrain providing residence options.
“Having Athena with this capacity and serving different age groups will be a great addition to accommodate more individuals with special needs,” said ministry rehabilitation department director Jalila Al Sayed.
Centre director Dr Marietta S Sicat said she was proud of working on a project “closely aligned to the objectives” of the ministry.
