Two Civil Defence servicemen have been promoted for their courage and professionalism in rescuing Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean following a crash at the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, gave directives to honour them.
Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa ordered exceptional promotion for the two heroes, who showed their readiness and capability in dealing with the accident.
One of the officers, a corporal, has been promoted to chief corporal while the second, a vice corporal, has been promoted to corporal.

The minister received the servicemen in the presence of the Public Security chief and the director general of Civil Defence.
He conveyed to them the thanks and appreciation of HRH the Crown Prince Prime Minister.
The Interior Minister hailed their professionalism in rescuing Grosjean.
He also hailed the competency of Civil Defence personnel for their courage and swift response, expressing best wishes for all in serving the nation.
