MANAMA: Bahrain has paid a tribute to its women for their contributions in the nation’s development.
Women’s well deserved advancement in Bahrain emanates from a society that truly understands its development priorities, Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and Supreme Council for Women president, said yesterday.
“The council will remain constantly ready and keen to translate into reality the Royal directives in the field of Bahraini women’s advancement and meet their needs to realise their aspirations and integrate their experiences in the development march,” she said.
In a message celebrating Bahraini Women’s Day, marked every December 1, Princess Sabeeka pointed out that it is an occasion of special importance, ranking high on the national agenda.
The record of Bahraini women’s breakthrough achievements is consistent with the crucial importance accorded to their advancement at the national level, in line with His Majesty’s vision, she said.
The day is being celebrated this year to honour women in the diplomatic field.
Women’s continued empowerment can be achieved in co-ordination with the council’s partners, notably the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, she said.
This occasion renews feelings of appreciation and gratitude to the Bahraini man, the first and permanent supporter of his partner in nation-building, Princess Sabeeka pointed out.
She expressed her appreciation for women in the diplomatic field who were able to accede to leadership positions with a distinguished presence and remarkable performance in all tasks assigned to them to serve the homeland. Princess Sabeeka particularly cited veteran diplomats who played a prominent role in setting the rules for diplomatic work.
