Tel Aviv: Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Alzayani yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of tourism with Israeli Tourism Minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen.
The minister stressed that openness with Israel would contribute in the future to a greater revitalisation of tourism movement between the two countries.
“Tourism in Bahrain is one of the active sectors with developed infrastructure thanks to the great interest of the government,” he said.
Mr Alzayani pointed out Bahrain’s efforts to upgrade the tourism sector and provide it with elements that would enhance the kingdom’s standing.
“The tourism openness with Israel within the framework of the Declaration in Support of Peace will have a great impact on enriching the tourism sector and supporting it between the two countries,” he said.
The Israeli minister praised the reputation enjoyed by Bahrain in the field of tourism, stressing that Bahrain-Israel co-operation in this field would open up opportunities for joint work in the coming period.
