Jeddah: Saudi’s Health Ministry confirmed the safety and efficacy of the coronavirus vaccine after social media posts warning of severe side effects made its rounds in the country.
The vaccines are due to arrive in the Kingdom within days, Arab News reported.
The ministry said the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine had undergone a “vigorous and lengthy process” to ensure its safety for public use.
Saudi Food and Drug Authority also rejected claims that the vaccine affects women’s fertility, saying there have been no studies to support it.
Most common reactions to vaccine are soreness at the injection site, fatigue, headache, and arm pain, according to the authority.
