MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad has announced a new medal for medical service in honour of the Crown Prince Prime Minister.
The Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit will be awarded to doctors, nurses and medical staff.
Also eligible will be medical personnel martyred while performing their duties, and frontline workers who have made significant contributions by way of the material and moral support of medical personnel.
In his National Day address to the nation yesterday, the King said the establishment of the medal was in recognition and appreciation of HRH Prince Salman’s relentless and dedicated efforts for the growth and development of Bahrain.
“Bahrain continues, based on its inherent legacy and its free national will, to work patiently and steadily to renew the historic development and build on its leadership, with the blessing of God and our honourable sons and daughters, together with the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, who is the leading factor in bearing this national responsibility,” said the King.
“We appreciate his outstanding vision, inspiring leadership and relentless efforts ... asking God to help him in performing his assigned tasks, as he has always been, the object of trust to achieve what we aspire to for the good and development of the nation.”
