Manama: The Interior Ministry has been ordered to take necessary measures to ensure that all Bahraini citizens detained in Qatar are released.
“The security and safety of Bahraini citizens represent a top priority,” said the Cabinet during its weekly meeting, which was held remotely.
Chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, yesterday’s virtual session rejected any violations targeting Bahrainis.
The session was updated about measures which have been taken by the ministry to compensate Bahraini fishermen harmed by Qatar’s Coast and Border Security patrols.
The Cabinet also stressed the importance of the new Bahrain International Airport Terminal, which will enhance the kingdom’s standing as a major regional logistics hub.
HRH the Crown Prince Prime Minister directed authorities to step up co-ordination during the countdown for the start of operations on January 28. He thanked all government’s departments and national cadres who teamed up to carry out this milestone project.
The session congratulated Saudi Arabia on the success of the 41st GCC Summit, recently held in Al Ula.
Ministers praised Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in bolstering Arabian Gulf’s development, security and stability.
They congratulated Riyadh on launching the Line project, a 170km belt of hyper-connected future communities, powered by Artificial Intelligence, in Neom.
The session highlighted the National Guard’s key role as a key component of the kingdom’s armed forces. The National Guard this week marked its 24th anniversary.
It also acknowledged its competence, readiness and dedication to service.
On the occasion of Bahraini Diplomacy Day on January 14, the Cabinet praised the accomplishments of the kingdom’s diplomatic corps in enhancing Bahrain’s regional and international standing and relations through a balanced foreign policy.
The Cabinet offered its condolences to the government and people of Indonesia and to the families of the victims of a fatal passenger airplane crash that killed 62 people.
