Manama: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday praised the successes of Bahraini diplomacy over the past 50 years.
He took pride in the kingdom’s efforts to strengthen relations of friendship and co-operation with other countries.
He stressed Bahrain’s firm belief in noble human principles and values of tolerance, coexistence, fraternity and mutual respect, commitment to international charters and laws, underscoring its contribution to strengthening security, peace and global stability.
The King’s keynote message was on the occasion of Bahraini Diplomacy Day, annually observed today.
“Bahrain has been able to assume a high standing in the international community, thanks to its balanced and flexible foreign policy, active and effective diplomacy, and its influential global presence,” said the King.
He stressed the kingdom’s rich history, its approach that keeps pace with modernity and development, and its people’s contributions to creativity and innovation.
He underscored Bahrain’s keenness to boost development focusing on meeting people’s needs and achieving their aspirations and hopes for a bright future.
“Bahraini diplomacy has affirmed, all along its history laden with success and excellence, that this ancient country with its history, civilisation, inherent values and the giving of its loyal children, is able to assume a standing among civilised nations, to strengthen its friendships and partnerships with various countries, and to contribute by its sincere efforts and conscious policies in keeping pace with international changes and facing global challenges,” he said.
The King congratulated Bahraini diplomats on the occasion, thanking and appreciating their dedication and sincerity.
