Manama: The Foreign Minister yesterday paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, for their continuous support to the ministry and its diplomatic and administrative personnel.
Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani made the statement to mark Diplomatic Day which is celebrated on January 14.
He took pride in the great interest shown by His Majesty in diplomatic work and those in charge of it.
“It is a good occasion to express loyalty and gratitude to the wise leadership that has defined the principles and foundations of foreign policy, its diplomacy and objectives, to achieve the homeland’s supremacy among the nations, defend its sovereignty, independence and interests as well as extend bridges of co-operation with all countries of the world.
Dr Al Zayani said the ministry derives from the wisdom of His Majesty, his enlightened visions and insightful thinking that helps it to perform its duties and responsibilities to the fullest. He added that its diplomatic work is based on His Majesty’s firm visions to promote tolerance, coexistence and cultural exchange among all people, religions and beliefs.
He expressed his appreciation and pride in the distinguished success achieved by the Bahraini diplomacy in various fields, in line with the directives of His Majesty, and the keenness of the government headed by the Crown Prince Prime Minister.
He praised the sincere efforts made by the founder of Bahraini diplomacy, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, throughout the years of his service at the Foreign Ministry.
He also thanked the King’s adviser for diplomatic affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, for his remarkable efforts during his tenure as Foreign Minister.
