Manama: Mourners bid tearful farewell to a three-year-old child, whose body was found inside a car trunk in Hidd.
Well-placed sources told the GDN today that initial examinations revealed there were no signs of assault or injuries and that Feras Mohammed Ahmed, an Egyptian national, died from suffocation.
However, the Public Prosecution has still not concluded its investigation into the incident, which was launched on Tuesday when Feras’ body was found inside the car belonging to the boy’s neighbour, a Sudanese man who works as a pharmacist in the neighbourhood.
He went missing from outside his home in Hidd on Monday night while he was playing with friends, the GDN earlier reported.
People from across Bahrain gathered at Central Muharraq Cemetery this afternoon for the funeral, where in an emotional move Feras’ father was seen refusing to place his son in a coffin. Instead, he carried his only child’s body, covered with a brown kafan, across the cemetery to be buried.
