Suspect arrested

A woman has been arrested for allegedly trafficking a 17-year-old and forcing her into prostitution, the Interior Ministry revealed in a statement yesterday.

The alleged human trafficker, identified by the ministry as Asian, reportedly brought the teenager from abroad and forced her to commit indecent acts.

The ministry’s anti-human trafficking directorate within the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science arrested the woman after receiving information about the girl’s ordeal and conducting an investigation.

Necessary legal procedures have been completed and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
