Bahrain: Hundreds of employees of garment factories have been laid off as a key clause in the US-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement (FTA) expires tomorrow.
Under the agreement that came into force on January 11, 2006, there was a 10-year Tariff Preference Level (TPL) allowance that permitted the use of third-party yarns and fabrics in textile production .
