An Emirati father has decided to donate Dh200,000 (BD20,500 approx.) of blood money to charity, which he received after his daughter was killed when she was run over by her school bus.
Shaikha Hassan Bilal died in February while crossing the road in front of her school bus after being dropped off near her home, said a report.
The driver was found at fault and the Court of First Appeal in Ajman upheld the sentence against the driver.
He was jailed for six months and ordered to pay Dh200,000 blood money to the victim's family.
Shaikha's father has given his brother the responsibility to receive the blood money and hand it to a charitable organisation to build a mosque and dig wells in a needy country in memory of his daughter.
