Muharraq will be debuting their Arab Cup campaign this season when they face Omani side Al Seeb in the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup tonight at Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium.
The 2022 AFC Cup winners are the current title holders of the Oman Professional League are ranked fourth after 17 games with nine games left and nine points behind first-ranked team Al Nahda, Al Seeb is a two-time winner of the Oman Professional League, four-time winner of Sultan Qaboos Cup, and two-time winner of Oman Super Cup.
Muharraq’s road to the group stage starts this evening at 6.30pm while the second leg will be played on April 4 in Oman.
If Muharraq goes through the first qualifying round, the Wolves will face the winner from Tunisia's Monastir and Yemen's Fahman Abyan in the second qualifying round in June.
If the qualifying round is cleared, bigger challenges await Muharraq as the group stage consists of Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasser with their superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Egyptian giants Zamalek.
The thrilling group stage takes place from July 15 to August 5.
