Bahrain 1 Racing, owned by His Majesty King Hamad’s personal representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has claimed a superb victory to go top of the FuelTech NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series 2023.
Bahrain 1 Racing’s drivers Kris Thorne and Justin Bond raced to victory, winning the first and second places, respectively, in the final round at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park as part of this weekend’s 69th annual Dodge Power Brokers NHRA US Nationals.
On the occasion, Shaikh Abdulla affirmed that Bahrain 1 Racing’s honourable local and external results are the outcome of the unlimited support of His Majesty and the unwavering interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Abdulla indicated that the team’s success in regaining the lead of the NHRA championship reflects the team’s tireless efforts to win the third title in its history.
He expressed confidence in the ability of Bahrain 1 Racing to win this year’s world championship, given its distinguished performance and results throughout the season, wishing the team success in the remaining two events.
Following the eighth round of the season, Thorne holds a 12-point lead in the drivers’ standing, with 966 points, followed by Bond, who has 954. Team driver Khalid Al Balooshi is eighth, with 822 points.
The FuelTech NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series resumes on September 29 as part of the NHRA Midwest Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway in St Louis, Missouri. The last round will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the end of October.
