Bahraini stand-up comedian Imran Al Aradi is all excited as he is set to perform at his sold-out solo show at Intercontinental Regency Bahrain, on February 20.
Though the star has staged hundreds of shows since 2008, this is his first solo performance with the platform ‘Sometimes Funny’, which is designed to nurture and develop comedy culture in Bahrain.
“I am excited about this upcoming performance because it plays a very big role in being a full-time comedian,” the 42-year-old from Manama, who used to serve as Radio Bahrain’s general manager and programme director, told the GDN.
Mr Al Aradi’s comedy show Stuck in Traffic, staged at Crowne Plaza Hotel in 2019, featuring comedians from across the GCC, was a massive hit with around 1,000 people attending the event.
He also took part in comedy shows, Short Notice (2016) and Chicken Nuggets (2021) at the Cultural Hall, with both events selling out in just three days.
Chicken Nuggets set a new record as the first stand-up comedy special in the GCC, reaching outstanding numbers.
