Barcelona: Last few days there has been a lot of chatter about Barcelona’s forward Neymar moving to Manchester United in a world-record transfer.
Barcelona’s club president had already refuted any such news, and now the striker too has come forward and reassured fans that ‘millions of pounds’ can’t change his loyalty towards the Catalans.
‘I want to stay at Barcelona, no matter how many million pound offers come from England,’ he said.
And he later told TV3: 'The people from Barca can be calm. 'When I hear things like this, I don't think anything. I just heard it and I am calm. I am very happy at Barca and with my colleagues.'
Barcelona is considering to offer Neymar a contract extension. Barcelona’s club president Josep Bartomeu told Catalunya Radio that "in the next few months we will talk about an extension. He must stay, not just three years, but five or 10 years more."
The 23-year-old Neymar is under contract until 2018. Neymar scored 39 goals last season — his second with the club — to help Barcelona win the Champions League, Spanish league and Copa del Rey treble.
